With the IFL Tissot PRX Midnight Sky Limited Edition, another classic shines in a completely new guise. IFL Watches has reinterpreted the iconic disco watch and transformed it into an abstract work of art….
Arctic Sky & Midnight Sky
IFL Watches introduces its next customized watch. This time, the family-owned, Stockholm-based company has turned its attention to none other than the 35-millimeter Tissot PRX. I’ve now written several watch reviews and shot videos about the Swiss company’s box office hit, its 70s retro design, and other details. That should really say everything about the PRX – or should it?
The reinvention of IFL Watches makes you sit up and take notice. The up-and-coming Swedish brand has taken on two models at once. The references T137-410-11-031-00 and T137-210-11-041-00 now adorn themselves with the dazzling names Arctic Sky and Midnight Sky. I had a closer look at the latter version with dark blue dial. On the technical side, there are no differences between the two references. The approach, i.e. the transformation into a real IFL watch, is also the same. What applies to the Midnight Sky can be transferred 1:1 to its sister model.
From the watch to an action painting
IFL Watches has carefully nourished the Tissot classic. Silhouette and materials were not touched. The upgrade is more one for the second glance. However, that’s where it excites me all along the line. Colorful splashes of color adorn the dial. Here, the designers have let off steam and given free rein to their creativity. With its action painting, the IFL Tissot PRX Midnight Sky has become an individual work of art, reminiscent of an abstract starry sky. In my eyes, however, the colorful dots do not seem naive, intrusive, or even tasteless.
The fact that this PRX is a very special one is not only visible on the wrist, but already on the light blue case, which IFL has exchanged Tissot’s well-known slipcase box for.
My conclusion on the IFL Tissot PRX 35mm Midnight Sky Limited Edition
After the modified G-SHOCK, the second watch with an IFL makeover can also convince me, even if the approach is again completely different. Abstract art and retro design – that gets along very well!
After customization, the IFL Tissot PRX Midnight Sky now costs 1,090.00 euros. The difference to the 35 millimeter base model is thus 695 euros. Of course, this cannot be outweighed by the equivalent of the labor hours and color alone. The IFL x Tissot PRX Midnight Sky is a work of art. That’s exactly how it should be treated. IFL Watches is not disclosing exactly how many units were produced. The release will take place on July 17 at 4 p.m. Central European Time. If you want to buy one of the watches, you should update the store in time. The watch I photographed here will also be available at a discounted price in my own store!
