The Casio G-Shock Mudmaster GWG-2000-1A5ER is the queen in mud and slush. Casios G-SHOCK watches have always stood for special robustness anyway. Nevertheless, there are always areas of application in which ordinary watches are no longer sufficient.
In these situations, the Casio G-Shock Mudmaster GWG-2000-1A5ER comes into play. It is at home wherever extremes prevail. Whether under water, in the mountains or in the air. Hardly any situation brings this watch to its limits. A life in permanent survival mode.
Casio has come up with a few tricks to turn a G-SHOCK into a high-performance athlete like the Mudmaster. Let’s have a look at the following special specifications. For example, there is the
case. Measuring 61 by 54 millimeters, it is one of the largest on the market. Surprisingly, the Mudmaster is still light and comfortable to wear on the wrist. The reason lies in the weight. The watch owes its mere 105 grams to the case. This consists of a carbon synthetic resin mixture. Casio has been a pioneer in this field for years. Salt water, heat, cold or mud cannot be dangerous for this watch. For my part, I praise the use of so-called a gel. The silicone mixture encases the quartz movement. Thus, it is protected from shocks and dampers.
Durable in survival mode – the Casio G-Shock Mudmaster GWG-2000-1A5ER
I can’t remember the last time I saw a watch with a feature list as long as the Casio G-Shock Mudmaster GWG-2000-1A5ER. Even for outdoor use, that’s remarkable. For example, an altimeter and depth gauge is included, which indicates very precisely in the range of -700 to +10000 meters, at which altitude you are currently. Radio signal reception ensures that the Mudmaster is always accurate. This even in 29 possible time zones! In addition, a barometer, a digital compass and a thermometer are of great use. Also on board are a calendar, stop functions and an alarm. A small point of criticism: in contrast to many other models, operation via smartphone is not possible. Casio is currently massively expanding this feature. Underwater operations are possible down to a depth of 200 meters. Thus, the Casio G-Shock Mudmaster GWG-2000-1A5ER also passes as a diver’s watch.
The quartz movement installed inside is powered by solar cells under the dial. Excess energy can be stored and retrieved when needed. It takes 23 months for the Mudmaster in energy-saving mode and without sunlight until its switches off – insane!
Casio G-Shock Mudmaster GWG-2000-1A5ER
Visually, too, the Casio G-Shock Mudmaster GWG-2000-1A5ER is the outdoor watch you’ve always imagined. Masculine, edgy and functional is the self-proclaimed “master of mud”. The sandy tone of the synthetic resin wristband matches the thematic field of application. Nevertheless, there is enough color choice. In the configuration I tested, the Mudmaster has the largest range of functions. Measured against that, the watch offers good quality and an excellent price-performance ratio, as you would expect from Casio.
