Like the dive watches that came before, Aerotec kept things simple with a strong focus on reliability, which of course, is one of the most important qualities in a watch meant to serve both pilots and divers. With features like a bronze pilot/bronze style case and vibrant dial colors, the Aerotec Ace Bronze also aims to offer tool watch lovers something a little different.
Mechanical Movement
The Seiko NH38A is a self-winding automatic with a bi-directional rotor on the back winds the watch, which means the watch will stay perpetually wound when you wear it or can be hand-wound by unscrewing the crown for clockwise manual winding without pulling the crown all the way out for time setting – No battery is needed.
Under normal temperature conditions, the NH38A is rated for static accuracy of -20 to +40 seconds, Long-term precision benefits from Seiko’s proprietary “Diashock” shock absorber. If you were to drop the Aerotec Ace or hit it hard against something, Diashock helps absorb that energy to prevent damage to the jewel bearings that support the balance wheel. If the balance wheel has a bent pivot because the watch got dropped, the watch will be erratic. If the pivot is too bent for the balance wheel to rotate at all then the watch won’t work at all: an anti-shock systems are very important even when the movement is well protected within a shock-absorbing bronze case!
