G-SHOCK is releasing three MASTER OF G models in one shared look: “Master in Horizon Gold”. Metal bezels with light yellow gold ion plating, brown bands – and underneath, three watches that could hardly be more different. The MUDMAN, MUDMASTER and GRAVITYMASTER share a face, not a character.

The name carries the message: giving up is not an option, keeping going is gold. According to G-SHOCK the series is aimed at everyone who pushes past limits and keeps moving under the hardest conditions. That is marketing language – the engineering behind it is not.
What all three share
The common ground is quickly listed – and it is the actual reason the three work as a series:
- Case made from bio-based carbon combined with stainless steel
- Band made from bio-based resin, brown
- Metal bezel with light yellow gold ion plating
- Mineral glass
- Water resistant to 20 bar
- Shock resistant
- Release month September 2026
From there the paths separate. Dimensions, weight, power, sensors and display differ on every model – which is why each watch gets its own section instead of a combined table none of them would fit into.
GRAVITYMASTER GR-B300H-5A – the lightest

At 59 × 54.7 × 15.7 mm the GRAVITYMASTER is the largest of the three – and at 71 grams by far the lightest. That contradiction is no accident but the Carbon Core Guard structure: the case combines bio-based carbon with bio-based resin and stainless steel.
According to G-SHOCK it is built for high g-forces, vibration and shocks, and was developed together with pilots. It is the only one of the three with a classic analogue display including a date window.

- Dimensions 59 × 54.7 × 15.7 mm · weight 71 g
- Case: bio-based carbon, bio-based resin, stainless steel, Carbon Core Guard
- Power: Tough Solar – around 5 months in normal use, 18 months in darkness with the power-saving function
- Mobile Link – wireless connection via Bluetooth®
- World time, stopwatch, countdown timer, daily alarm, calendar
- Mineral glass · 20 bar · shock resistant
- 299.00 euros, including VAT, plus shipping

MUDMASTER GG-B100XMH-5A – the one with the Quad Sensor

The MUDMASTER is the heavyweight of the series: 55.4 × 51.3 × 19.4 mm and 104 grams. Almost two centimetres of height and a third more weight than the GRAVITYMASTER – but it also carries the most.
The Quad Sensor is the argument. Four measurements in one case, each with the ranges G-SHOCK states:
- Thermometer – −10 to 60 °C
- Barometer and altimeter – −700 to 10,000 m
- Digital compass – 0 to 359°, displayed in 16 directions
- Step counter via a 3-axis accelerometer

It is also mud resistant – hence the name – and the only one of the three running on a battery instead of solar: a CR2025 with an approximate life of two years. That is the price of four sensors in one case. The glass is spherically shaped, and the case combines stainless steel with the Carbon Core Guard structure.
- Dimensions 55.4 × 51.3 × 19.4 mm · weight 104 g
- Case: bio-based carbon, stainless steel, Carbon Core Guard
- Power: CR2025, approximate battery life 2 years
- Mobile Link – wireless connection via Bluetooth®
- Quad Sensor: thermometer, barometer, altimeter, compass, step counter
- Mineral glass · 20 bar · shock resistant · mud resistant
- 419.00 euros, including VAT, plus shipping

MUDMAN GW-9500MH-5 – the consistent one

The MUDMAN is the only fully digital watch in the series – and the only one that gets the time by radio. 56.7 × 52.7 × 14.8 mm, 88 grams, which makes it slimmer than the MUDMASTER on a similar footprint.
The combination of Tough Solar and Multi Band 6 is what sets it apart from the other two: it needs neither a battery change nor a smartphone. Light and a radio signal are enough. G-SHOCK states around six months of operation in normal use, and 26 months in darkness with the power-saving function.

It is mud resistant as well and carries a compass, thermometer, barometer and altimeter. These three views show how that looks on the display:

- Dimensions 56.7 × 52.7 × 14.8 mm · weight 88 g
- Case: bio-based carbon, stainless steel
- Power: Tough Solar – around 6 months in normal use, 26 months in darkness with the power-saving function
- Radio controlled, Multi Band 6
- Digital compass, thermometer, barometer, altimeter
- Fully digital display
- Mineral glass · 20 bar · shock resistant · mud resistant
- 399.00 euros, including VAT, plus shipping

My take
I have had all three on the wrist, and the difference is bigger than the shared look suggests. That is the real appeal of this series: it looks like a decision about colour but is one about construction.
The GRAVITYMASTER is the largest on paper and the least noticeable on the arm. 71 grams at 59 millimetres of length is a statement. Anyone who has worn a big watch that starts complaining after two hours knows what that number is worth. Carbon Core Guard is not a spec-sheet word here; it is the reason you forget the watch is there.
The MUDMASTER is the opposite. You feel 104 grams and 19.4 millimetres of height, and you keep feeling them. That is not a criticism but a question of audience: anyone who needs four sensors on the wrist accepts the bulk. Anyone who does not is wearing the wrong watch. That it is the only one running on a coin cell fits the picture – function came before convenience.
The MUDMAN is the most coherent of the three for me. Tough Solar plus Multi Band 6 means: put it on and never think about it again. No battery change, no app, no pairing. At 88 grams and 14.8 millimetres it sits exactly between the other two, and on a watch with an altimeter and a barometer the fully digital display is simply the more honest solution – you read values instead of hunting for them on hands.
The gold is a matter of taste, and the brown band makes the whole thing earthier than the usual black. What convinces me is less the colour than the fact that G-SHOCK puts three fundamentally different concepts side by side without watering any of them down.
