Mine is number 068. Venezianico numbers only the first hundred examples of the new Redentore Levius, each one engraved individually into the caseback – and one of them sits on my desk. The limited run is not even the headline, though. The weight is: 48 grams, complete, strap and buckle included.

A case in grade 5 titanium is what makes that possible. Add a dial cut entirely by hand and the calibre V5000, Venezianico’s first in-house movement, designed and built in Italy. The Levius is not the first watch to carry it: the V5000 debuted in the Redentore Utopia, itself limited to a hundred pieces, and the Utopia II followed – the Levius is the first to put it in a titanium case. The price is 4,750 euros.
The calibre comes first
Most brands at this price buy a movement. Venezianico built one. The V5000 is hand wound, 3.5 mm thick, runs at 25,200 vibrations per hour on 19 jewels, holds 60 hours of power reserve and is rated at ±3 seconds a day. It was designed by Fausto Berizzi and Andrea Menegazzo and is manufactured by the Italian house OISA.
The construction is not decorative. A free-sprung copper-beryllium balance with four masselottes, supplied by Atokalpa, sits under a bridge anchored on both sides; shock protection is KIF Elastor. The finishing – radial Côtes de Genève, mirror-polished anglage, micro-perlage – is applied by hand and visible through the sapphire back.

Grade 5, and where the 48 grams go
The Levius is the lightest Redentore so far. 48 grams is the finished watch on the wrist, strap and buckle included. The manufacturer’s page first said „without the strap“; asked about it, Venezianico confirmed that was a typo and has corrected it. Here is how the weight breaks down:
- bare grade 5 titanium case: 12.9 grams
- complete watch head with movement, dial and both crystals: 40 grams
- whole watch with leather strap and titanium buckle: 48 grams
The reason behind those numbers is the material. Grade 5 titanium – the alloy with aluminium and vanadium – is considerably harder than commercially pure titanium, and that hardness is precisely what makes it awkward to polish. It is why you rarely see it on a dress watch. Venezianico turns the problem into the design: polished bevels run beside brushed surfaces, and the change between them draws every edge.

Zefiro, and a pattern that never stops
The dial is called Zefiro, after the west wind. Linda Renzetti cuts it by hand on a rose engine built in 1850. The lines run outward from the centre in an irregular, slightly twisted flow – currents of air crossing each other and never repeating.
The novelty is structural. For the first time the pattern is engraved across the whole surface. The polished areas that normally break a guilloché into fields are simply gone, so the drawing runs through without interruption. Venezianico argues this also keeps the dial legible in hard light, because there is no mirror surface left to throw it back at you.

The hands were redrawn for it. Each one carries a polished face next to a sandblasted one. On a dial that reflects differently with every movement of the wrist, that is not a flourish – without it the hand would disappear into the pattern.

On the wrist
38 mm across, 44.2 mm lug to lug, 8.9 mm tall: the proportions of a proper dress watch rather than a compromise. The strap is embossed leather made in Italy, the pin buckle is grade 5 titanium again. Water resistance is 3 bar – a figure Venezianico does not print on its own product page, while Revolution and Monochrome both give 30 metres.

Price, numbers and delivery
The Redentore Levius costs 4,750 euros. Only the first 100 pieces are numbered; after that the model continues as a regular reference without a number. Monochrome reports that the first hundred ship immediately, the second hundred within a month, and later orders within five months. Venezianico gives a two-year international warranty.
