Égard watches are the perfection of affordable luxury. But how do you achieve this? Certainly with a very good product. The quality should only meet the highest standards. EGARD BERMUDA Series.
In addition to that a unique design is important. At Égard, this is the result of a great passion that the Manufacture displays, coupled with good ideas and imagination.
Now Égard presents its latest model via the platform Kickstarter. Characteristic of the new Bermuda Series as well as of all Égard watches is the fully engraved case. Such an eye-catching design is probably hard to find on the watch market. The patterns contain artistic, stylized flowers and other ornaments from the Gothic era. Ilan Srulovicz, founder of Égard, always emphasizes the uniqueness of his timepieces, but at the same time he also mentions the high manufacturing costs of his watches. According to Srulovicz, the production of the watches causes a lot of waste material and costs time. It is therefore not surprising that Égard is the only manufactory in the world producing this design.

Similar to many other microbrands that have been created in recent years, the founder is a visionary with an extraordinary idea, who originally comes from a completely different industry and has taken the leap to independence with today’s digital possibilities. Ilan Srulovicz worked in product design for larger companies before founding Égard in 2012. His first watch was a gift to his father, who is a very special person to him. “I was a very rough child […] but one person never gave up on me. And that person was my father”. The gift to his own father turned into a small company that has now been on the market for 8 years and is attracting attention with its extravagant design.
Let us turn to the interesting novelty, the Bermuda series. At first glance, it captivates with the contrasts that are essential fort he design oft he watch. On the one hand there is the very slim and minimalist dial. It is embedded in a case, which is completely engraved. The spectacular design is rounded off by a bracelet that is also engraved. The technique is a mixture of new and old. Lasers are used to engrave the material. The whole thing is finished by hand.
There will be three different versions at the start. The cases of all three variants are similar in their dimensions and in the type of material. This brings the case to impressive 42 millimetres in diameter. It is made of 316L stainless steel with integrated strap lugs. You are spoilt for choice with the variants. The “Masterpiece” impresses with its Swiss automatic movement. An STP1-II movement is used here. It has a specially made rotor with golden inlays and the manufacturer logo. EGARD BERMUDA Series
A little simpler and more practical is the V1, which has a Swiss Ronda quartz movement. Winding up is not necessary with this movement, since a battery is used here. The dials of these two models are blue or black.
The most extraordinary is surely the “Skeleton” version. Self-confidently, it shows its inside, a movement of the brand Seagull. With each watch, the wearer can decide each day anew with which bracelet he wants to wear the watch. Égard supplies both an engraved metal bracelet and a comfortable rubber strap with the watch. One aspect really amazed me. Most artistic watches are not exactly practical in everyday life. With the Égard Bermuda, things are different. According to Ilan Srulovicz, the goal was to be able to use Bermuda in a variety of ways. “We wanted to create a functional work of art. The Bermuda series is ideal for everyday use and made to become part of a family collection for future generations”. The “Masterpiece” and “Skeleton” versions cost less than $500 and can be pre-ordered through Kickstarter.
