What is G-SHOCK doing? You’ve got to be kidding me! Or is it? 🙂

In 1983, I already had the very first G-SHOCK on my wrist! Born at the end of the 60s, the 80s were my “push & urge time” And when the very first Casio G-SHOCK DW 5000C-1A came on the market in April, I really wanted to have it. My uncle had shown me a newspaper ad, and I was hooked. In September, the time had finally come. For my birthday, I finally held the good piece in my hands!

And today, almost 40 years later, the new Casio G-SHOCK MRG-B5000B-1DR is launched. WHAT A WATCH! I immediately had to think of my very first G. Unfortunately I hesitated a little bit, so I can NOT hold it in my hands yet. Sure, at 4000,- !!!!! Euro for a G-SHOCK… Unfortunately, my very first 5000 is also no longer in my inventory. Had one but just all known earlier that the Casio G-SHOCK DW 5000C-1A times cult status gets.

Official Teaser Video

Paying homage to the first G-SHOCK from 1983, the DW-5000C, the MRG-B5000 features a silky sheen of ultra-modern materials enhanced by masterful polishing.

G-SHOCK evolves from the need and curiosity to create a watch that would survive a 10 meter fall, withstand 10 bars of water pressure, and last 10 years on a single battery. With the latest MR-G model, this idea is not only continued, but perfected with a hitherto unique construction of high-quality materials.

Instead of being cast in one piece, as is usually the case, the MRG-B5000 case alone is made up of over 25 individual parts, each of which has been meticulously selected and machined to ensure the highest possible durability of the watch. The MRG-B5000 justifies G-SHOCK’s claim to be the toughest watch brand. At the same time, the Japanese watchmaker does not rest on its shockproof laurels, but constantly challenges itself to make the models truly durable and unique by using the latest finishing and product technologies.

The bezel, which lies around the display, is made of COBARION®, a metal alloy that is twice as hard as stainless steel while having the silky luster of platinum. This alloy was originally used in the printing industry because it remains scratch-resistant even under high stress.

The case itself is made of Ti64 titanium

Ti64 titanium has extremely high strength and excellent corrosion resistance. Due to the low density with high corrosion resistance, this material is increasingly used in aerospace and aviation, as well as in biomechanical applications.

The strap of the latest MR-G is refined with the Japanese titanium alloy DAT55 Titanium. This is three times harder and many times more durable than pure titanium. Due to the low weight with extreme impact resistance, this type of finishing is often used, for example, for high-quality golf equipment.

The special titanium carbide coating on the case and bracelet further increases the wear resistance of the preceding alloys. A literally unbeatable and virtually indestructible combination, often used in industrial tools that must withstand extreme friction and heat, and which make this G-SHOCK model so unique.

To give even the smallest corners of the complex watch case, which consists of 25 different components, a refined polish, G-SHOCK developed the new Multi-Guard structure. The new structure incorporates shock-absorbing parts of the case to ensure excellent shock resistance. Furthermore, it allows each component to be polished. The comprehensive and accurate polishing results in a stunningly beautiful finish.

The bracelet was also designed with special attention to detail and durability, to allow detailed polishing for the watch as a total work of art the bracelet is equipped with separate pins embedded in round holes in each metal link.

Mmmmhhh…. how do I get this assembled again!!! 🙂

From the meticulous polishing and carefully selected materials, the MRG-B5000 is a watch that pays homage to the original design while maintaining the quality of the renowned MR-G line.

The new model is offered in two colorways; the MRG-B5000B-1DR in black and the MRG-B5000D-1DR in silver.

The MRG-B5000 features radio-controlled calibration and smartphone link connectivity in combination with the use of the MR-G Connected app. With the help of the app, the watch automatically sets itself to the correct time, among other things. Thanks to the G-SHOCK Tough Solar System, the watch charges itself independently in low-light conditions, conserving energy.

Like the other MR-G watches, the MRG-B5000 is manufactured in the Premium Production Line of Yamagata Casio, the “mother factory” of Casio watch production.

The Casio G-SHOCK MR-G B5000B-1DR is equipped with the following features, among others:

  1. So, ich habe es getan. In Kürze findet Ihr also das vollständige Review hier im Blog und bei YouTube. 🙂

    Wer hat noch eine?

Was haltet Uhr von den 4.000,-. EUR? Gerechtfertigt oder eher Wahnsinn?

Die 1983er hat ja nur 50 Mark gekostet… 🙂 – Mittlerweile aber auch sehr teuer.

Meine Gedanken dazu findet Ihr im Video. https://youtu.be/sz3L8eLzGGM
